A 3 days Tsavo safari tour from Mombasa gives an opportunity to visit 2 National parks whereby, you have more chance to see many different species of wildlife animals and nature. Tsavo East National park is plain and it’s easier to see the animals from a distance. Tsavo West National Park is a beautiful, rugged wilderness with beautiful landscape. The savannah ecosystem comprises of open grasslands, scrublands, and Acacia woodlands, belts of riverine vegetation and rocky ridges including the Poacher’s Lookout where visitors can see the teeming herds in the plains below.

Day 1: Mombasa/Diani – Tsavo West National Park
Your safari adventure starts with an early morning departure from Mombasa/ Diani, heading towards Tsavo West National Park. Upon arrival, check into the Ngulia Safari Lodge or similar, your base for exploring the park. Begin your exploration with a visit to the Shetani Lava Flows, formed by recent volcanic activity, followed by a stop at Mzima Springs, where you can observe hippos and fish underwater from an underground viewing chamber. Enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by the park’s natural beauty before embarking on an afternoon game drive, where you may encounter a variety of wildlife including elephants, lions, giraffes, and more. Return to Ngulia Safari Lodge or similar for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Tsavo East – West National park
After breakfast, depart for Tsavo East National Park, renowned for its vast landscapes and diverse wildlife. Check into Voi Safari Lodge or similar and head out for a full day of exploration. Marvel at the sight of dust-red elephants browsing gracefully against the backdrop of the savannah. Visit the Aruba Dam, a popular watering hole for wildlife, and Mudanda Rock, a towering rock formation that attracts elephants and offers panoramic views of the park. Explore the Yatta Plateau, the world’s longest lava flow, and enjoy bird-watching opportunities as you traverse the park. In the late afternoon, return to Voi Safari Lodge or similar for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Tsavo East to Mombasa/Diani Beach hotel/Airport
Enjoy an early morning game drive in Tsavo East National Park. Then, return for breakfast before departing for Mombasa. It is now your time to share your experiences with your driver, and in return, the driver will ask that you complete our feedback from rating our service and your overall safari experience. Tsavo East National Park, being flat with thorny bushes and swampy marshland near its seasonal rivers makes it easy to see diverse animals and bird species.
